Where are the away games?
See our schedule. Away games are usually at the town's high school. Directions are included in the WYFC Athlete/Parent Handbook - each parent should ensure they receive a copy.

What equipment do families need to buy?
Football players will need to buy a jockstrap, a cup, cleats and socks. Rib pads, arm pads and "neck rolls" can be purchased if so desired.
Cheerleaders are issued practice and game uniforms.
Each player and cheerleader must bring a gallon of water to practice and cheerleaders may be required to bring a large bath towel to practice.

How does parent volunteer work?
Parents fulfill 2-hour per games. Volunteer hours are necessary for this program to run. See your appointed team parent to sign-up.

What determines where athletes play?
This is based on the school district in which the athlete lives. Our program’s boundaries share the boundaries of the Wheatland Union High School District.

What are the age limits?
Mighty Mites: Ages: 6-7
Jr. Pee Wee: Ages: 7-9
Pee Wee: Ages: 9-11 (and
12 year olds under 70 lbs. Must be under 70 pounds on the first official
day of practice)
Jr. Midget: Ages: 10-12 (and13 year olds under 110 lbs.
Must be under 110 pounds on the first official day of practice)
Midget: Ages: 11-14 - no 9th graders.

How is age figured for eligibility?
First, all 9th graders are ineligible. All 13 and 14 year-olds must present proof of grade from their school. The cut-off date for the year is November 1st. A child's age on October 31st is his/her age for the season.

What is the weight limit?
Might Mites 45 - 85 lbs
Jr. Pee Wee 50 - 95 lbs
Pee Wee 60 - 115 lbs
Jr. Midget 70-145 lbs
Midget 110 – 190 lbs Change for

Do age and weight limits apply to cheerleaders?
The age limits do apply. There are no weight limits for the cheerleaders.

How much to sign up?
$50.00 non-refundable sign-up fee for football and cheer with is included into the total registration fee.
Football - Before July 4: $200 (after July 4: $250)
Cheerleader - $300 – unable to accept sign-ups for cheer due after May 31, 2009 due to ordering cheer uniforms.

Are refunds given?
Yes. Before Jamboree less the $50.00 sign-up fee. There are NO refunds given after Jamboree.

What if sign up fees can't be afforded?
Parents may apply for financial scholarship. Contact a board member for more information.

When/Where is Cheer Competition?
Oroville Eagle will host: Date,
location, and time TBD. Team parents will provide additional information.

What is the team limit?
Football:
Midget, Jr. Midget, Pee Wee – 20 players minimum and 45 players maximum
Jr. Pee Wee – 20 players minimum and 30 players maximum
Mighty Mites – 14 players minimum and 25 players maximum
Cheer:
Midget, Jr. Midget, Pee Wee, Jr. Pee Wee – 3 cheerleader minimum and 25 cheerleader maximum
Mighty Mites – 3 cheerleader minimum and 20 cheerleader maximum

Are there any special requirements?
All participants must meet these requirements:

Must pass
a sport’s physical. |

Must present
a copy of a Certificate of Live Birth available from the |

Must
present a recent picture sized 2 x 3 inches.

Must
provide proof of medical insurance. |
|

Must make
a commitment to be at all practices and games for the season. Failure
to field 16 players on game day results in a forfeit. |
|
|
Players
or cheerleader ages 13 or 14 must provide proof of grade level – report card
or letter from the school on the school’s letterhead. |

Who is responsible for my child on the field?
The head coach or cheer advisor is responsible for your child while there is a practice, game, or other authorized event. By NorCalFed rule, non-authorized persons are NOT allowed on the practice field or game field. This is an insurance requirement. Before and after practice or game the parents are responsible for the children. While we appreciate your child's efforts on the field please be responsible by having them at practice and at games on time and picking them up afterwards. Wheatland Youth Football and Cheer and NorCalFed cannot take responsibility for your children who have not been picked up in a timely fashion.

Where is Cheer Camp?

When and where can I obtain a physical?
Parents may obtain a physical from their private doctor. Helmets can only be issued after providing proof that a physical was conducted. You cannot practice without providing proof that a physical was performed.

If you're interested in coaching, even if you have no experience, we would like to talk to you. High School cheerleaders and football players are welcome. Coaches must attend Nor Cal Fed's and WYFC's clinics.
