Most adults are generally modest and do not
care to relive their past (although our runners have rightly observed that we
may be reliving our past through the enjoyment of their performances), but the coaches' bios
are not for us. They provide a vehicle by which we can share a part of us with
others and also let the athletes know that we have "been there, done
that." This translates to "I am not asking you to do something that I
have not done myself."
